UFC 210: Cormier vs. Johnson 2 took place April 8 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman (13-3) looked to break out of his slump against streaking contender Gegard Mousasi (42-6-2) in the night's co-main event, which aired live on pay-per-view. Round 1: Dan Miragliotta is the referee. Weidman comes out pressuring. Not a lot happening until Weidman lands a snatch single and gets Mousasi in the ground. Mousasi gets to turtle and Weidman goes for a front choke. Mousasi escapes and they're back on their feet. Weidman again gets a single leg and finishes but Mousasi gets back to his feet quickly again. Mousasi starts throwing more aggressively and Weidman ducks under again but Mousasi doesn't go down. Weidman drives Mousasi up against the cage but can't get the takedown. The separate and Mousasi lands a leg kick while Weidman lands a big right hand. Mousasi comes forward and Weidman gets another single leg but can't keep him down. Weidman's wrestling is throwing Mousasi way off. Mousasi slips and Weidman follows him to the ground as the bell ends. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Weidman.

Round 2: Mousasi hurts Weidman early with a right hand and he's all over him with flurries against the fence. Weidman moves away and Mousasi goes for a takedown. Weidman stuffs it and they're up against the cage until Miragliotta separates them. Weidman shoots quickly and gets Mousasi down. Mousasi landing some good elbows from the bottom but Weidman stays heavy on top and passes to mount. Mousasi rolls over and Weidman has the back. Mousasi creates a scramble and they're back to their feet. Mousasi really pouring it on with the jab. Weidman shoots and is stuffed. Mousasi knees him twice and one of them looks to be illegal with both of Weidman's hands on the mat but it's close. The fight is stopped to give Weidman time to recover but the replay appears that both knees are legal. Weidman getting a gift here. This is a disaster. Miragliotta has established that this is a legal knee but the doctors are in the cage and Weidman is still getting time. No one knows what to do and a lot of questions are being asked. it appears that the doctor's have called the fight. Mousasi wins via TKO.
