If you watched the epic slugfest between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann in the main event of UFC on Fuel 8 on Saturday night, you probably already figured out that Silva's knockout victory at his old stomping grounds of the Saitama Super Arena was likely to get the UFC's Fight of the Night award.
And you were right. Silva hadn't even returned to the locker room before the UFC tweeted that he and Stann took home Fight of the Night honors, pocketing an additional $50,000 for his efforts.
Since there were no submissions on the evening, the UFC also handed out a pair of knockout of the night bonuses.
Silva, obviously, earned one of the KO bonuses for his first win in Japan since 2006. But his fellow former PRIDE cohort, Mark Hunt, also earned a $50,000 bonus for his gigantic two-punch combo which felled Stefan Struve in a heavyweight co-main event.
