In the UFC 146 battle of unbeatens, Stipe Miocic came out unscathed.

Miocic used his wrestling to take Shane del Rosario down early in the second round and overwhelm him, eventually stopping him with a series of elbows that slashed his forehead open and bounced his head off the canvas repeatedly.

The finish came at 3:14.

The first round was fairly even, with del Rosario scoring with kicks to the legs and body while Miocic looked to head-hunt. The two kept a furious pace for the opening five minutes.

The second though, was completely different, as Miocic took it to the mat early and del Rosario could never find a way back to his feet. Miocic bloodied him early on in the sequence with an elbow, and his short strikes got harder and harder until the ref had seen enough.

It was the second straight knockout loss for Miocic, who is now 9-0.

Del Rosario had been fighting for the first time since February 2011. After that, he had been involved as a car accident that put him on the shelf with career-threatening injuries.

Del Rosario is now 11-1.
