Round 1: Yves Lavigne is the third man in the cage for this bout. Miocic gets the first decent blow in with a straight right counter to a del Rosario low kick. SDS (yeah, we’re doing that now) apologizes for catching Miocic in the groin with that one. SDS gets his kicks working, attacking Miocic’s legs and body. Miocic seems to have put a lot of his faith in the straight right. Good punch combo by SDS, followed by a blocked head kick. Miocic spins away from the fence and fires back. Another good straight lands for Miocic. SDS hammers him with a left that knocks him back into the fence. Both these guys are showing off serious beards so far. Lesser heavyweights would be unconscious by now. Head kick lands flush for SDS, but Miocic walks right through it and gets the takedown. This could be a long, rough fight if the current pace holds. MMA Fighting scores it 10-10.

Round 2: SDS gets the kicks working right away to start the second. If they’re bothering Miocic in the slightest, he isn’t letting it show. Takedown by Miocic. He adds some hammer fists and then tries, unsuccessfully, to slip into mount. SDS defends well from the bottom, but Miocic is in complete control from the top, working short elbows and hammerfists from SDS’s half-guard. SDS is a bloody mess now. It’s hard to even tell where he’s bleeding from. More elbows in close by Miocic, and Lavigne has seen all he needs to see. This one is over. SDS staggers to his feet before his cornermen rush in to keep him from falling over.

Stipe Miocic def. Shane del Rosario via TKO (elbows) at 3:14 of round 2
