Strikeforce Live Blog: Paul Daley vs. Kazuo Misaki Updates

This is the Strikeforce live blog for Paul Daley vs. Kazuo Misaki, a welterweight bout on tonight's Strikeforce card from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Daley (29-11-2) last fought for Strikeforce in July 2011, losing to Tyron Woodley. He's since won two straight against Jordan Radev and Luigi Fioravanti in outside promotions. Misaki (24-11-2) is coming off wins against Mike Seal and Akira Shoji in Japan.

Round 1: Both fighters open orthodox. Misaki jabs to the body and eats an outside leg kick. Misaki wings an overhand right, but it's only glancing. Misaki eats another outside leg kick to the lead leg. Misaki partially lands a left hook and grabs a kick to push Daley to the floor. Daley scoots to the fence and stands. Misaki now with a right hook to the body. Daley misses a left hook and Misaki lands a right. Daley covers up with his back against the fence and is eating punches. They're mostly blocked and they resume action in the center of the cage. Daley manages a takedown and lands some heavy shots, but Misaki reverses at the end of the frame.

Round 2: Daley slings a rear uppercut, but it's blocked. Misaki charges forward and lands a body kick as Daley circles out. Misaki lands a knee to the body and a right hook. Daley clinches and nearly gets harai goshi'd, but posts out. Daley lands a left hook, but Misaki fires a right of his own. Good jab by Daley. Daley times a double and gets it in the center of the cage. Daley working on top, but nothing major is landing. Daley stands to drop heavy GNP and tries to pass, but momentarily takes Misaki's back before slipping off. Now Misaki's on top. Referee stands them up.

Round 3: Outside leg kick by Misaki. Daley trying to put combinations together, but can't seem to get close enough. Daley times a punch and scoop doubles Misaki to the floor. Misaki appears to be cut badly on the side of his head. Referee calls time to have a doctor inspect it. They let it go. Misaki eats a left hook on ac linch break. Daley shoots for a double and is stuffed. Misaki doing all the stalking now. Misaki lands a left kick to the body. Daley grabs a leg and trips the post, but Misaki stands. Misaki backs Daley into the fence and lands a few shots to the body. Daley tries another body lock takedown, but can't get it.
