Strikeforce Live Blog: Scott Smith vs. Lumumba Sayers Updates

This is the Strikeforce live blog for Scott Smith vs. Lumumba Sayers, a middleweight bout on tonight's Strikeforce card from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Smith (17-9) lost his third straight fight last July in a decision loss to Tarec Saffiedine. Sayers (5-2) lost his Strikeforce debut to Derek Brunson but bounced back with a knockout win over Antwain Britt.

Round 1: The two open orthodox and winging punches. Sayers manages to get Smith to the floor, but Smith is allowed to stand. However, the two lock up again and this time Smith goes for a ride on a MONSTER slam. From there Sayers captures open guard and sinks in the guillotine choke. That's surprising, but it's a wrap. Smith taps.
