Thiago Silva’s ex-wife finally opened up about the incident that happened last week in Oakland Park, Fla., and she added more fuel to the fire.

Thaysa Kamiji, who was married to Silva from 2004 to 2012, said in an interview to Brazilian website UOL that she decided to end the relationship after years of aggression. Kamiji, who accuses the MMA fighter of throwing her down the stairs, said Silva’s continue use of cocaine made him more violent over the last month.

On Thursday night, Silva was arrested by the police after threatening to murder Kamiji and Pablo Popovitch, her boyfriend and jiu-jitsu teacher. According to Kamiji, the MMA fighter already knew she was dating Popovitch.

"You know what I don’t understand? We had a healthy relationship, we always talked, each one respected the other’s space," Kamiji said. "He became (violent) over the past three weeks. I think that’s the consequence of the use of cocaine.

"My marriage was over in December of 2012. In our relationship, I had to deal with the imbalance and aggressions. But I never went to talk to the police because I fear the reactions. Even after I was assaulted, I did not speak."

Popovitch guarantees he never had a relationship with Kamiji before she ended her marriage to with Silva. According to Kamiji, she decided to leave Silva because of his drug abuse, and she was afraid to report the other aggressions she suffered.

"That's what ended the marriage," she said. "The problem was cocaine. He always thinks he’s above the law. My neighbor knew that she should call the police if she ever heard me scream. He had the cocaine paranoia. He came to my house, tore my clothes and pointed a gun at my head. I already suffered some abuse, but I always withdrew because I was afraid."

Thiago Silva, who never tested positive for cocaine in his 12-fight career in the UFC, was released by the promotion after the arrest on Thursday night, and will remain in jail before the trial.

UFC light heavyweight veteran Thiago Silva was arrested Thursday night by members of the Broward County Sheriff's Office following an alleged incident at the Pablo Popovitch Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Oakland Park, Fla.

Silva, 31, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, one count of resisting an officer without violence, as well as one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon stemming from a prior incident.

According to the police report obtained by MMAFighting.com from the Broward County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Silva and his wife Thaysa, who have been married for 13 years, separated in December 2012 due to "marital problems." Following the separation, Thaysa continued to live at the couple's Oakland Park residence.

On January 30, 2014, Thaysa Silva called officers to the residence due to a domestic altercation. She was "visibly shaking and sobbing uncontrollably" when police arrived. Thaysa alleged that Thiago and her engaged in an argument over accusations of extramarital affairs, during which, Thiago picked up a revolver, pushed her onto the sofa, pointed the firearm at her and threatened to kill her.

Thaysa alleges to have begun to scream, after which Thiago covered her mouth with his hand, held her down, and placed the revolver inside her mouth. Thiago then left the residence, fleeing the scene in his vehicle.

Thaysa informed officers that she feared for her life and believed Thiago intended to kill her. Later that day, Thaysa filed for a temporary injunction for protection.

On February 5, 2014, Thaysa Silva again called police following an incident at the shared residence. Thaysa alleges that she arrived to the residence at 8:53 p.m. to find Thiago Silva inside. She confronted Thiago and requested that he leave, citing the temporary injunction for protection. He initially refused, stating that she was the one who needed to leave. Thiago eventually left without incident.

Following his departure, Thiago allegedly sent Thaysa a text message that read, "I am gonna f--k you up and you are going to die. I am going to hire someone to kill you and I am gonna move my girlfriend in."

On February 6, 2014, at approximately 7:44 p.m., Thiago Silva allegedly parked his Dodge Charger outside the Pablo Popovitch Mixed Martial Arts Academy where Thaysa Silva, Pablo Popovitch, and approximately 25 adult students were training. Thaysa and Popovitch are currently involved in a romantic relationship, a fact which Thiago is aware of, and one that "contributed to his actions."

Thiago Silva allegedly began to honk his horn continuously until Thaysa Silva went outside to speak with him, noticing immediately that he was "extremely intoxicated." Thiago then brandished a glock pistol, pointed it at Thaysa, and stated, "You have ten seconds to bring Pablo outside and if he does not come out, I will go in the gym and start shooting everyone."

Popovitch exited the gym and approached the driver's side of vehicle, as Thiago allegedly pointed the firearm at Thaysa. Following ensuing death threats from Thiago, Popovitch ran back inside the gym, locked the front door and called police. Thiago subsequently drove off.

Officers soon arrived at Thiago Silva's residence and identified themselves, however upon Thiago's arrival, the UFC veteran "faced the deputies and gave them the middle finger" then proceeded inside his residence. A SWAT team was subsequently deployed, which coerced Thiago to exit the residence. Thiago allegedly "did not comply with [officers'] commands so a taser was deployed for officer safety reasons."

Silva was taken into custody at approximately 11:12 p.m.

Silva's sole count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon stems from the domestic incident on January 30, 2014.

Silva (16-3, 2 NC) was scheduled to fight Ovince St. Preux at UFC 171 on March 15 in Dallas, TX. He has subsequently been cut from the UFC.

It appears as though Thiago Silva's days of fighting in the UFC are over.

Just hours after the 31-year-old Brazilian was arrested at his South Florida home, UFC president Dana White told TMZ, "This guy will never fight in the UFC again." White said the same to Yahoo! Sports.

After his bond hearing Friday morning, Silva has officially been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of resisting an officer without violence for an alleged incident that occurred Thursday night in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

He is currently being held at the Broward Sheriff's Office main jail.

Silva began his UFC career as a 10-0 prospect at UFC 71 in May 2007. His current record is 16-3, with two no contests as a result of two failed post-fight drug tests. His most recent fight was an Oct. 2013 win over Matt Hamill in which he failed to make weight for. He was scheduled to fight Ovince St. Preux at UFC 171 next month.

A report by the NBC affiliate in South Florida indicated an arrest of the owner of a home, with the address listed as being owned by UFC fighter Thiago Silva, after an armed suspect allegedly threatened people at the Pablo Popovitch Mixed Martial Arts Academy.

NBC news in South Florida reported Thursday night that an armed suspect entered a jiu-jitsu school in Oakland Park, FL and threatened people there before the Broward Sheriff's Office was called at about 7:45 p.m. The address listed, 777 E. Oakland Park Blvd., was of the Pablo Popovitch Mixed Martial Arts Academy.

The reported suspect left the facility and locked himself inside what was reported to be his home at 2041 Coral Heights Blvd., in Fort Lauderdale, the home owned by UFC fighter Thiago Silva.

A SWAT team set up a perimeter around the home, and at about 11:15 p.m., the person in the home, whose name was not released by police, was taken into custody.

Popovitch is the trainer of Thaysa Silva, the wife of Thiago Silva, and a high level competitive black belt in BJJ.

UFC officials released the following statement late Thursday night.

"This evening, we were made aware of a situation involving Thiago Silva. We are in the process of gathering the facts and have no further comment at this time."

Silva, who has a 16-3 record with 2 no contests, was scheduled to face Ovince St. Preux at UFC 171 on March 15 in Dallas, Tex.

Silva's two no contests were overturned decisions in fights he had originally won. He defeated Brandon Vera on January 1, 2011, a decision overturned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission when the urine he left for his sample in a drug test was determined to not be human urine.

A win over Stanislav Nedkov on November 10, 2012, was overturned when he tested positive for marijuana in testing conducted by the UFC at a show in Macau, China.
