One-time light heavyweight title challenger Glover Teixeira is coming back to New York.

Per Newsday, Teixeira (27-7) has been matched up with Ion Cutelaba (14-3, 1 NC) for the UFC’s upcoming debut on the ESPN+ streaming service, which is scheduled to take place on Jan. 19 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This will be Teixeira’s second time fighting at the venue after defeating Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision at UFC 208 in February 2017.

Teixiera has alternated wins and losses in his last six outings, bringing his UFC record to 10-5. Most recently, he was out-wrestled by Corey Anderson en route to losing a unanimous decision at UFC Hamburg. The 39-year-old can claim finishes of Misha Cirkunov, Rashad Evans, Ovince Saint Preux, and current Bellator champion Ryan Bader.

This will be Cutelaba’s second fight since returning from a six-month USADA suspension for prohibited ozone therapy. He returned at UFC on FOX 30 in July where he defeated Gadzhimurad Antigulov via first-round TKO. Cutelaba has won three of his last four fights.

Also reported by Newsday was a light heavyweight bout between Alonzo Menifield (7-0) and Vinicius Alves Moreira (9-11). Menifield recently earned a contract on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series with an eight-second TKO of Dashawn Boatwright, while Moreira was signed off of the Brazilian version of the Contender Series after recording a second-round submission of John Allan.

RIP Glover

suspended for ozone therapy?...ok

Blood doping I suppose, still seems stupid, but then again I admit my ignorance.

I like Glover but I hope "Hulk" wins. Need some young blood in this division

Can't fully explain why but never could get behind tex. Never disliked him as a fighter or person.

But he was like old man that was able to luck out competing when he did otherwise kept waiting for the next level of talent to take his place but he kept lucking out. Bader, rumble, DC, Jon, Gus, Phil where new school that he couldn’t beat. Yes I know he beat bader but would highly favor bader to have won rm. But he was at perfect timing of old guard finally getting too old or going away. Shogun, Lyoto, Chuck, Tito, rashad, rampage, T Silva, Griffin, randy, Vitor, Hendo. Guys I would have favored to beat him at lhw as well.

It was the perfect timing for him to climb as high as he did but feel guilty becayse he has done nothing wrong himself and just the way things worked out.

I think he chose the wrong promotions to fight for

He should have fought in Pride with the rest of the LHWs of that era and then made his way over to UFC after Pride folded, not sure why he chose the route he did.

He never fought DC and knocked Bader into another dimension when they fought.

you mean when tex was on wobble legs and managed to catch a reckless bader. And very much doubt Tex would have much of chance against DC.

Which was point of list.
