UFC on FX 3 Live Blog: Eddie Wineland vs. Scott Jorgensen

This is the UFC on FX 3 live blog for Eddie Wineland vs. Scott Jorgensen, a bantamweight bout on Friday night's UFC event from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla.

Wineland, who has lost his last two fights, will fight Jorgensen, who has lost two of his last four fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Wineland's striking looks crisp early, even as he knows the takedown try is coming. It does, and he's ready. Wineland going to the body quite a bit, then snaps Jorgensen's head back with a straight right hand. Jorgensen lands a staff jib and a right hand behind it. Wineland has a trickle of blood from a cut over his nose. Wineland floors Jorgensen with a right, but he gets up quickly and clinches for recovery time. Wineland uses a trip takedown to get the fight to the mat. Jorgensen back to his feet and WIneland scores with a three-punch combo. Wineland punishing him again as he wades inside. He buckles Jorgensen with a straight right. Big first for Wineland, 10-9.

Round 2: Jorgensen cut Wineland over the left eyebrow early on with a knee. WIneland is still throwing bombs and landing the right from time to time. Jorgensen showing an excellen chin but it's clear Wineland has the power and speed edge so far. This is a better round for Jorgensen but still not enough. The bantamweights are keeping the best pace of any fight so far on this card. Wineland uses a double jab into a right down the pipe that floors Jorgensen. Two ground strikes later and it's over.
