Surging middleweights Andre Muniz and Dricus Du Plessis are the latest additions to the UFC 269 card this winter.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans told MMA Fighting that Muniz vs. Du Plessis will serve on the Dec. 11 fight card. The matchup was first reported by ESPN.com. event’s location and venue have not been announced yet.
Muniz, who is tied for No. 13 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, is fresh off the biggest win of his career, a bone-snapping submission of perennial contender Jacare Souza at UFC 262 that marked his third straight octagon win.
Du Plessis earned his second octagon win in July at UFC 264, stopping Trevin Giles in the second round via TKO for a successful follow-up to a first-round TKO of Markus Perez at UFC Fight Island 5.
As MMA Fighting previously reported, UFC 269 is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title fight between champ Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier.
