Light heavyweight prospects are expected to collide when Jimmy Crute and Jamahal Hill meet in a rescheduled bout at the UFC Fight Night event on Dec. 4.
The fight is targeted but not signed at this time of this writing, sources told MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck. MMA reporter Jordan Ellis first broke news of the matchup.
Crute and Hill were originally slated to meet at the UFC Fight Night event on Oct. 2.
Crute (12-2) will look to rebound after suffering a first-round TKO loss via doctor’s stoppage to Anthony Smith in April at UFC 261. Prior to that setback, the 25-year-old Australian won five of his six fights under the Zuffa umbrella, highlighted by a third-round submission of Paul Craig, the No. 15-ranked light heavyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings.
Likewise, Hill (8-1, 1 NC) will aim to climb back into the win column after suffering the first defeat of his professional career in a gruesome loss to Craig at UFC 261, which left Hill with a dislocated arm as the result of an armbar.
Hill was 3-0 with one no contest under the Zuffa umbrella prior to the loss, a run that included a second-round stoppage of respected veteran Ovince Saint Preux.
