The thought of a straight-up superfight between welterweight champion Roberto Soldic and middleweight champ Mamed Khalidov has KSW fans going wild and it may have taken a step forward following the promotion’s most recent event.
Soldic successfully defended his 170-pound strap in the main event of KSW 63 on Saturday by defeating Patrik Kincl via second-round TKO. It was the sixth straight win and second title defense for Soldic, who captured the title with a stoppage win over current UFC middleweight upstart Dricus Du Plessis at KSW 45 in October 2018.
Following the victory, Soldic jumped the cage and headed over towards the promotion’s middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov, who recently captured the title in October with a 36-second KO win over Scott Askham at KSW 55. While it started off intense, it was all respect as it appears Soldic has called for a champion vs. champion bout with the Khalidov.

Khalidov would eventually enter the cage to join Soldic, where the mutual respect continued. The promotion then asked if fans would want to see the matchup, and it seems the response has been overwhelmingly positive on social media.
Khalidov had an impressive 15-fight unbeaten streak before suffering three straight losses. The 41-year-old bounced back with his title earning win over Askham, gaining some revenge after Askham earned a decision win over Khalidov 10 months prior.
