Round 1
Diaz throws an immediate jump spinning back kick! Misses by a mile but that was fun. Lawler is stoorming forward and Diaz shoots a takedown that is shrugged off and now Lawler has him against the fence and he’s hammering hooks to the body and head.
Diaz covering up and then returning with hooks of his own. Lawler again with big shots but now he’s backing off, seeing that Diaz isn’t going to fold up shop immediately. And Diaz is settling in with more jabs, and lands his own good body shot.
one thing to note, Diaz is enormous in there. He was never making 170 and he looks 20 pounds heavier than Lawler in there.
Diaz is starting to heat up and Lawler is engaging in the brawl. Both men working the body but Lawler is also working uppercuts. Diaz getting his jab and 1-2 game going and he’s landing a lot. Lawler doing a lot of shelling up and blocking most of the punches but Diaz is then finishing big to the body.
This is a slugfest. Both men are staying in the pocket and moving their hands. High guards and high volume. This is the best possible version of this fight. Maybe not fully vintage versions of either man, but good enough.
MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Diaz.

Round 3
In his corner, Lawler looks to be in tremendous shape and if he can keep this up, that’s good for him. Diaz, of course, looks like he’s fine from a cardio standpoint.
Lawler starts the round with more pressure and Diaz is now trying to fire back with power to back Lawler off him but that doesn’t work and Lawler hurts him! Diaz gets sat down with a punch! He tries to beckon Lawler in to his guard but Lawler doesn’t fall for that at all and walks off. Herzog commands Diaz up to his feet and Diaz refuses! His nose is pouring blood and it appears to be broken! It’s a TKO for Robbie Lawler!
