UFC heavyweight Chris Daukaus continued to climb the heavyweight ranks at UFC 266 with a second-round TKO that sent spit flying from Shamil Abdurakhimov’s mouth.

A right hand sent Abdurakhimov to the canvas for the second and final time as Daukaus poured on the punishment for a stoppage at the 1:22 mark of the round.

Check out the finish below.

Daukaus, the No. 11 ranked heavyweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, may have been motivated by Abdurakhimov’s behavior at the start of the second frame. An accidental eye poke prompted him to flip off the Russian heavyweight, who replied with a spinning backfist.

It was a spirited start for Abdurakhimov after a left hand sent him to the canvas for the first time. Daukaus quickly pounced and took mount position but was unable to do enough damage before the end of the round.

But with another big shot, Daukaus picked up his fourth consecutive stoppage victory in the UFC while Abdurakhimov dropped his second straight after spending most of 2020 and 2021 on the sidelines with a series of cancelled bouts, including two with Daukaus.
