Another 20 fighters have officially been announced to get their shot to earn UFC contracts.
On Saturday night’s UFC Vegas 37 broadcast, the lineups for weeks 6 and 7 of Dana White’s Contender Series were revealed. The events will take place Oct. 5 and 12 respectively at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas and will stream on ESPN+.
Headlining DWCS Season 5, Week 6 will be a welterweight bout between Shimon Smotritsky (7-0) and Mike Malott (6-1). Smotritsky has competed inside the Bellator cage throughout his pro career, winning both of those appearances. Mallot, who is also a coach at Team Alpha Male, is unbeaten in his last three, including a win over Solomon Renfro in his most recent appearance at CFFC 91 in December.
Cody Brundage (6-1), the husband of former UFC strawweight Amanda Cooper, will get his second chance on the show as he faces Shonte Davis (6-1) in a 185-pound matchup. Brundage was defeated by William Knight in September 2020 by first-round TKO, where Knight was awarded a contract.
DWCS Season 5, Week 7 will be capped off by a light heavyweight showdown between undefeated fighters Anton Turkalj (7-0) and Kaloyan Kolev (10-0).
