Ryan Hall will look to bounce back from his first octagon loss at the end of the year.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a featherweight matchup between Hall and Darrick Minner is on tap for UFC 269. The event takes place Dec. 11 in a location and venue yet to be announced. MMA Junkie first reported the bout is in the works.
Hall, the winner of season 22 of The Ultimate Fighter, began his UFC career with four consecutive victories. “The Wizard” returned from a two-year layoff to face Ilia Topuria at UFC 264 in July, where he was stopped in the first round via TKO. The loss was Hall’s first since his pro debut in April 2006.
Minner is 2-2 in his UFC tenure that began with a short-notice submission loss to Grant Dawson in his debut at UFC on ESPN+ 27. The 31-year-old went on to pick up victories over T.J. Laramie and Charles Rosa before a TKO loss to Darren Elkins in his most recent appearance at UFC Vegas 32 in July.
UFC 269 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier, while Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against Julianna Pena in the co-main event.
