A pair of Dana White’s Contender Series contract winners will square off at the UFC’s return to New York.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a flyweight bout between Ode Osbourne and C.J. Vergara will take place at UFC 268. The event takes place Nov. 6 at Madison Square Garden.
Osbourne made a big impression on the UFC president when he submitted Armando Villareal on DWCS in July 2019. Since then, “The Jamaican Sensation” is 1-2 competing inside the octagon, which includes stoppage losses to Brian Kelleher and Manel Kape. The 29-year-old picked up his first UFC win with a ferocious 26 second KO win over Jerome Rivera at UFC Vegas 18.
Vergara earned himself a contract earlier this month with a 41 second stoppage win over Bruno Korea at DWCS Season 5, Week 3. The former Fury FC flyweight champion has won four straight fights, finishing all of them.
UFC 268 will be headlined by a welterweight championship rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, while Rose Namajunas defends her newly regained strawweight title against Zhang Weili in their second meeting.
