The fight pits two top-tier bantamweights seeking to break into the top-15 after recent setbacks. Yadong earned a 5-0-1 record in the octagon before his most recent appearance, a UFC 259 meeting with Kyler Phillips that ended in a unanimous decision loss. He owns wins over the currently ranked Marlon Vera and fought to a draw with Cody Stamann.
Kenney, meanwhile, went after big name in taking on ex-champ Dominick Cruz in his previous appearance at UFC 259. He lost a decision, in the process snapping a three-fight winning streak that earned him the matchup. Prior to that, he defeated Nathanial Wood via unanimous decision.
