The Kayla Harrison show rolls on in two weeks.
On Tuesday, the PFL announced the lineup for its second playoff card of the season, which takes place on Aug. 19 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and will be headlined by a lightweight bout between tournament semifinalists Harrison and Genah Fabian.
Harrison, the only two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo in the history of the United States, enters her second PFL playoffs unbeaten in 10 pro bouts. She submitted her two opponents Cindy Dandois and Mariana Morais inside of a round earlier this year to advance towards her second straight league championship.
This is the second time that Harrison and Fabian have been scheduled to fight in the PFL. They were set to meet in the 2019 semifinals in October of that year, but Fabian withdrew due to an illness after issues with her weight cut.
Fabian holds a 4-1 record and she won both of her PFL regular season bouts against Julija Pajic and Laura Sanchez to advance to the playoffs.
The other lightweight semifinal features 2019 finalist Larissa Pacheco and former Invicta FC fighter Taylor Guardado.
The heavyweight finals will also be decided on Aug. 19. Top seed Bruno Cappelozza takes on Jamelle Jones, who qualified for the playoffs with a spectacular knockout of UFC vet Klidson Abreu after stepping in as an alternate, and Denis Goltsov vs. Ante Delija.
The winners of each PFL tournament will not only be crowned season champion, but also be awarded a $1,000,000 prize.
Boxing superstar Claressa Shields was previously reported to be competing on this card in a non-playoff bout, but an official told MMA Fighting on Tuesday that she will not be fighting Aug. 19. An update on her next bout is expected to be announced soon.
Shields made her MMA debut in June for the PFL, defeating Brittney Elkin by third-round TKO in a comeback after being controlled on the ground for the majority of the contest.
