Zviad Lazishvili is no longer on the UFC roster less than a week after being signed by the promotion.
The undefeated LFA bantamweight champion inked a deal with the UFC to face Jack Shore on days’ notice at UFC Vegas 36, which takes place Sept. 4 in Las Vegas, but was forced off the bout due to an injury and subsequently released from his contract, multiple people with knowledge of the news told MMA Fighting.
Shore is now scheduled to face octagon newcomer Liudvik Sholinian on the same card, the former Cage Warriors champion confirmed on social media following a report from Marcel Dorff.
Sholinian (9-1-1) makes his UFC debut on less than 10 days’ notice after winning his past four with a couple of stoppages. The Ukrainian 135-pounder has only lost once as a professional, dropping a decision to Sidemar Honorio at Bellator 209 in 2018. He was a cast member on the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Shore (14-0) looks to keep the momentum going following a trio of UFC victories, a pair of rear-naked chokes against Nohelin Hernandez and Aaron Phillips followed by a split decision over Hunter Azure this past April.
The UFC Fight Night card will be headlined by a middleweight showdown between Derek Brunson and Darren Till.
