Cheyanne Buys and Loma Lookboonmee are making waves in the UFC’s strawweight division and they’ll collide soon.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that a bout between Buys (6-2) and Lookboonmee (6-2) is in the works for an upcoming UFC event on Nov. 20, with a location still to be determined. The potential fight was first reported by reporter John Hyon Ko.
Buys was one of the most talked-about names coming out of the 2020 Contender Series season after defeating Hilarie Rose to earn a UFC contract. She lost in her UFC debut to Montserrat Ruiz, but rebounded with a 60-second knockout of Gloria de Paula in July.
Lookboonmee has already established herself as one to watch at 115 pounds, having won three of her first four UFC fights. She is coming off of back-to-back unanimous decision nods over Sam Hughes and former Invicta FC atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey.
