Dan Hooker will attempt to end his two-fight skid when he faces rising lightweight Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266, a pay-per-view event scheduled for Sept. 25 in Las Vegas, NV, the promotion announced. BJPenn.com first reported the booking.

Hooker (20-10), ranked No. 9 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, is on a two-fight losing skid opposite Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler, snapping a victorious three-fight run over James Vick, Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder.

A longtime veteran of the UFC, “The Hangman” scored key stoppages victories over the course of his octagon run, finishing Gilbert Burns, Jim Miller, Marc Diakiese and Ross Pearson since moving up from the featherweight division.

Haqparast (13-3) has won five of seven since joining the UFC in 2017, defeating Alex Munoz and Rafa Garcia via decision in his most recent appearances. The 26-year-old talent had pocketed a couple of post-fight bonuses in the company with wins over Joaquim Silva and Thibault Gouti.

UFC 266 will take place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and feature a pair of championship showdowns. Alex Volkanovski is set to defend the 145-pound throne versus Brian Ortega in the main event, while Valentina Shevchenko puts her belt on the line opposite Lauren Murphy. A third five-round contest is set with Nick Diaz returning to rematch Robbie Lawler.
