Bellator 265 video: Duane ‘The Rock’ Johnson cruises to 64-second win in promotional debut

Bellator MMA, YouTube

Can you smell what “The Rock” is cooking?!

No, not that Dwayne Johnson. Instead it was 33-year-old Duane Johnson (6-2) who scored an effortless 64-second submission of Deven Fisher on Friday night at Bellator 264.

Johnson, a middleweight prospect who shares a name — and a nickname — with the popular actor and WWE superstar, impressed in his promotional debut. The Sanford MMA product cut through Fisher like a hot knife through butter, snapping Fisher down with an early front headlock before tying him up with a picture-perfect d’arce choke.

“It’s the baddest Duane Johnson in the world right here,” Johnson joked afterward.

“Man, I’ve been doing this for over 15 years and I know I could compete with all the top 10 in the world. And it’s everybody starts learning who Duane Johnson is. It’s my time!”

Check out Johnson’s handiwork — along with his post-fight theatrics — below. (Johnson’s fight occurs roughly around the 31:45 mark.)
