Andrey Koreshkov’s next test is a former UFC standout making his Bellator debut.

Bellator announced Friday that Koreshkov (24-4) will fight Rustam Khabilov (24-4) in a welterweight bout at the promotion’s first-ever show in Moscow at VTB Arena on Oct. 23. The matchup was first reported by reporter Igor Lazarin.

This marks a quick turnaround for Koreshkov, who is coming off of a lopsided unanimous decision win over Sabah Homasi at Bellator 264 this past weekend. The former Bellator welterweight champion has won two straight and is 5-2 in his past seven fights.

Khabilov competes for the first time since parting ways with the UFC in 2019. He defeated Sergey Khandozhko by unanimous decision in November of that year and later signed with Bellator at the end of 2020. Khabilov compiled a 10-3 record competing in the UFC’s lightweight division with notable wins over Jorge Masvidal, Vinc Pichel, Yancy Medeiros, Chris Wade, and Kajan Johnson.

Bellator Moscow will be headlined by heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko fighting Tim Johnson.
