UAE Warriors continues to stack their upcoming show on Sept. 22 with the addition of a number of Bellator, PFL and RIZIN veterans.
UAE Warriors 22, which is scheduled to take place at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi, will feature a welterweight showdown between Andre Fialho and Lincoln Puig, as well as heavyweights Ricardo Prasel and Mikhail Mokhnatkin, multiple sources with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting.
Fialho (12-3, 1 no contest), a veteran of Bellator, PFL and LFA, looks to extend his winning streak to three after a second-round knockout over UFC veteran James Vick in Florida and a 18-second win over Sang Hoon Yoo in his UAE Warriors debut.
Puig (11-3) scored nine of his 11 professional wins inside the opening round, including six submissions, and looks to get back no track following a loss to Vladislav Kanchev in Serbia in March 2020.
Mokhnatkin (12-5-2) is a former Fight Nights Global title contender who fought twice as a light heavyweight under the PFL banner in 2019. The Russian talent is moving back up to heavyweight three months after stopping Fabio Marongiu in the opening round of their 205-pound bout in Belarus.
Prasel (11-2), who began his journey in MMA after a career in soccer, has only lost twice as a professional, dropping a decision to Ante Delija in RIZIN and then a first-round defeat against Don’Tale Mayes at Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. Prasel enters the bout five months after a first-round win in Brazil.
UAE Warriors 22 will also feature Gadzhimurad Antigulov vs. Alexander Poppeck, which was first reported by MMA Fighting earlier this week. A planned bout between Ramazan Kuramagomedov and William Macario has been scrapped after “Patolino” suffered an injury, MMA Fighting has learned.
