Bellator 265 has lost its originally scheduled co-main event.

Jay Jay Wilson (8-0) was set to face Adam Borics (17-1) in a featherweight bout that was supposed to serve as the co-headliner for Friday’s Bellator event at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. However, Wilson weighed in at 150.4 pounds at Thursday’s official weigh-ins, 4.4 pounds over the limit for a non-title bout and MMA Fighting confirmed with officials that his fight with Borics has been cancelled.

The bout was expected to establish a No. 1 contender in Bellator’s 145-pound division.

MMA Junkie was first to report the cancellation.

Borics weighed in successfully at 145.6 pounds and will be paid his show money.

This miss marks the third time in Wilson’s past four fights that he has failed to beat the scale. At Bellator 257 in April, he came in 0.8 pounds over the limit for a fight with Pedro Carvalho, and at Bellator 252 in July of last year, he came in 1.9 pounds over the limit for a fight with Tywan Claxton.

A welterweight bout between Logan Storley and Dante Schiro has been moved up to the Bellator 265 co-main event spot.
