Ex-UFC fighter Gadzhimurad Antigulov faces Alexander Poppeck at UAE Warriors 22 in September

Following a six-fight run in the UFC, Gadzhimurad Antigulov has booked his next fight as he faces off with Contender Series veteran Alexander Poppeck at UAE Warriors 22 on Sept. 4.

Promotion officials confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Tuesday.

Antigulov will be making his first appearance since exiting the UFC on a four-fight losing streak after picking up back-to-back wins to start his career with the promotion. The Russian fighter earned finishes over Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Joachim Christensen before suffering a string of losses ending with a TKO defeat to Maxim Grishin, which led to his exit from the UFC.

Now he’ll look to get back on track while facing off with Poppeck, who is currently riding a three-fight win streak after he came up short in his bid to earn a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019.

On that night, Poppeck suffered a TKO loss to Jamahal Hill but he’s since returned to his winning ways with three straight wins including stoppages over Felix Polianidis and Francisco de Souza.

The UAE Warriors 22 card on Sept. 4 will also include former Bellator fighter Shawn Bunch as he faces Rany Saadeh as well as Ramazan Kuramogomedov taking on William Macario.
