Two of the UFC’s promising young heavyweight contenders put their win streaks on the line next month.

The UFC announced Wednesday that Tom Aspinall (10-2), the No. 13-ranked heavyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings, will fight Sergei Pavlovich (14-1) on Sept. 4 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

A former Cage Warriors standout, Aspinall is 3-0 since debuting with the UFC in July of last year with finishes of Andrei Arlovski, Alan Baudot, and Jake Collier. The 29-year-old has won six straight fights with only Arlovski lasting longer than two minutes against Aspinall during that stretch.

Pavlovich, 28, makes his return to the octagon after nearly two years on the sidelines. After losing to Alistair Overeem in his UFC debut, Pavlovich won two fights in 2019, finishing Maurice Greene and Marcelo Golm via strikes in the first round. An injury forced Pavlovich out of a fight with Ciryl Gane that was to take place in August of last year.

The UFC’s Sept. 4 card will be headlined by a middleweight contenders bout between Derek Brunson and Darren Till.
