Jason Knight will need gloves for his next bout after the ex-UFC and BKFC fighter signed with the PFL with his debut expected to take place on the upcoming card on Aug. 27.
Multiple sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Thursday following an initial report from MyMMANews.com.
A veteran of the UFC from 2015 to 2018, Knight was well known for his exciting style that earned him three post fight bonuses in his first five appearances with the promotion. His time in the UFC came to an end after a four-fight losing streak.
From there, Knight made a name for himself while fighting in bare-knuckle competition after signing with BKFC where he engaged in a pair of memorable battles with fellow UFC veteran Artem Lobov.
Knight lost a decision in the first fight against Lobov but then exacted his revenge with a TKO in their rematch back in 2019.
Earlier in 2021, Knight actually returned to MMA where he picked up a win and then he booked the main event in the first ever bare-knuckle MMA card promoted by UFC star Jorge Masvidal and his Gamebred Fighting Championships.
In his debut for the promotion, Knight made quick work of Charles Bennett with a first round submission and now he’ll turn his attention back to MMA again after inking the deal with the PFL.
Details on Knight’s debut as well as an opponent are expected to be announced in the coming days. The PFL is currently on hiatus until August when the promotion will return for the playoffs in multiple divisions, which will eventually lead to the finals later this year.
