Jessica Eye had to receive 13 stitches in her forehead after a nasty cut was opened during her fight against Jennifer Maia this past Saturday night at UFC 264.

The former flyweight title contender had blood gushing down her face following an accidental clash of heads led to the cut, which preceded her unanimous decision loss to the Brazilian.

A day later, UFC president Dana White revealed a look at Eye’s forehead after she had the wound stitched up and the photo is not for the faint of heart.

At the UFC 264 post-fight press conference on Saturday, White praised Eye for her incredible toughness and durability for surviving to the final horn with that cut putting so much blood into her eyes while trying to trade strikes with Maia on the feet.

“That was a beauty,” White said about the cut that Eye suffered during the fight. “She’s tough as nails. There’s a logical thing that happens to you when you get split wide open like that and blood’s running all over your face into your eyes. She’s tough man, she’s a gamer.”

As for Eye, she released her own statement just moments after the fight with Maia ended as she argued against the unanimous decision loss while adding her thoughts on the cut as well.

“We feel we got robbed,” Eye said about the result in her fight. “We’re going to go back and check out the tape but we appreciate everyone’s support. And holy sh*t that was gnarly!”

Eye has now dropped three fights in a row after suffering losses to Maia, Joanne Calderwood and Cynthia Calvillo.
