Round 1
Both men come out in their southpaw stances and McGregor takes the center and throws a turning side kick to start. And another. Kicks appear to be part of the plan for McGregor. Now a left hand lands for McGregor but Poirier steps in with a left hook that backs McGregor up.
Porier lands a good leg kick and McGregor answers. Poirier shifts forward and lands a good left hand as a result. McGregor going heavy on lead leg kicks. Now he lands a left hand but Poirier marches him down and lands a huge left hand that stuns McGregor early. Poirier keeps the pressure on and now he’s on the hips of McGregor but McGregor gets a guillotine!
McGregor drops for guard but Poirier is able to keep his legs clear and after some shuffling, Poirier is now on top in McGregor’s guard and looking to pass. McGrgeor is stuffed against the fence and Poirier lands a big elbow. He passes to half guard but McGregor recomposes and lands a few good elbows from the bottom.
Poirier then postures up and he hammers McGregor with elbows! Big time shots and McGregor looks unhappy. Huge right hand from Poirier and McGregor is looking tired. This is Khabib-esque. McGregor kicks him off for a moment but Poirieris right back on top and he id DROPPING BOMBS ON MCGREGOR! Good upkick for McGregor but Poirier is relentless and just bashing him.
With short time, Poirier complains about something and stands up. McGregor uses that opportunity to step in but Poirier drops him! McGregor against the fence and Poirier punishing him! McGregor is saved by the bell!
