The Bellator featherweight grand prix finale will take place in the promotion’s return to the West coast.

As MMA Fighting first reported, the 145-pound title fight between Patricio Pitbull and AJ McKee will take place at Bellator 263 on July 31. At Wednesday’s Bellator 263 virtual press conference, the promotion announced that the event will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

Pitbull, who also holds the lightweight championship, earned his spot in the finale with a trio of title defenses over Juan Archuleta, Pedro Carvalho and Emmanuel Sanchez.

McKee improved his record to 17-0 with quick stoppages of Georgi Karakhanyan, Derek Campos and Darrion Caldwell to set himself up for his first shot at Bellator gold.

In addition, Bellator officially confirmed four other matchups for the card. In a potential title eliminator in the bantamweight division, Raufeon Stots will take on Magomed Magomedov. After the submission loss to Pitbull at Bellator 255 in April, Sanchez is set to return against Mads Burnell during the promotion’s first domestic event outside of Mohegan Sun Arena since the COVID-19 pandemic turned the world upside down. The pair of bouts were first reported by MMA Junkie.
