A pair of streaking welterweights are set to fight on Aug. 7.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Michael Chiesa (18-4) will fight Vicente Luque (20-7-1) at UFC 265 at a location still to be determined, following an initial report by Cageside Press.
This puts two of the 170-pound divisions hottest fighters against one another as Chiesa is currently on a four-fight win streak, while Luque has won his past three fights.
Chiesa most recently won a unanimous decision over Neil Magny this past January at a UFC Fight Island event in Abu Dhabi. His other recent wins include Rafael dos Anjos, Diego Sanchez, and Carlos Condit.
Luque has won nine of his past 10 fights and scored the most high-profile win of his career at UFC 260 with a first-round submission of former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. The Sanford MMA standout also holds notable wins over Randy Brown, Mike Perry, Bryan Barberena, and Belal Muhammad.
