Bellator 260 weigh-in results: Douglas Lima, Yaroslav Amosov set for title fight, one fight scratched

The welterweight championship headliner for Friday’s Bellator 260 event is set after both fighters successfully took on the scale.

Douglas Lima, who is set to make his first title defense of this current reign, and 25-0 challenger Yaroslav Amosov successfully made weight at 169.75 pounds and 170 pounds, respectively. The five-round title fight will close the show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., in front of a limited number of fans.

The exciting co-main event is also a go as Paul Daley and Jason Jackson both successfully made weight for their 175-pound catchweight matchup. In addition, the featherweight bout between Aaron Pico (145.75) and Aiden Lee (145) is official for the main card, which airs on Showtime.

Although all fighters successfully made their contracted weights, one fight was removed from the main card. Bellator officials confirmed that the 128-pound catch weight fight between Vanessa Porto and Ilara Joanne will no longer take place after Porto was not cleared by the commission to compete.

Porto’s manager Giulliano Gallupi told MMA Fighting that the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation pulled the plug on the fight even though both athletes made the contracted weight of 128 pounds, after checking Porto’s blood pressure and heartbeat levels, “which isn’t usual,” he said.

“Any fighter would obviously have those levels higher than usual due to their weight cut,” Gallupi said. “The commission didn’t even give her a chance to rehydrate and check that again, they cancelled [the fight] right away.”

MTDAR Executive Director Mike Mazzulli told MMA Fighting that Porto did not pass her pre-fight physical and will be required to move up in weight unless she can certify she can compete safely again at 128 pounds or lower. Porto will need to hit certain weight benchmarks 30 days and seven days from her next fight based on the contracted weight for her next fight at Mohegan, Mazzulli added.

Promotion officials confirmed to MMA Fighting the event will move forward with a four-fight main card.

Ceremonial weigh-in video will be available at 1 p.m. ET.
