Chase Sherman and Parker Porter will give it another shot this summer.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the heavyweight matchup will take place at the UFC’s event on Aug. 21 at a location and venue yet to be announced. Fight Bananas was the first to report the booking.

The bout was originally scheduled to take place at this past month’s UFC Vegas 24 event before Porter was forced to withdraw, leading to Andrei Arlovski taking his place on short notice to defeat Sherman at the event.

Sherman returned to the UFC in May 2020 and stopped Ike Villanueva via second-round TKO. The performance marked his fourth straight win in the start of his second stint in the UFC. The 31-year-old fighter worked his way back to the octagon after a 2-5 record in his first run.

Porter is looking to make it two straight in the octagon after earning his first promotional win over Josh Parisian at November’s UFC Vegas 15 event. The 35-year-old vet has won three of four and is 5-2 over his last seven.
