UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Bellator 258’s championship headliner is official.

MMA Fighting was on the scene at the event’s official weigh-ins Thursday morning at Mohegan Sun Arena, where Juan Archuleta successfully made weight for his first bantamweight title defense, hitting the mark at 135 pounds on the nose. Challenger Sergio Pettis was the first to the scale and came in under the championship limit at 134.75 pounds.

The co-main event, the final opening round matchup of the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix, is also set for Friday night’s event as Anthony Johnson tipped the scale at 205 pounds for his first fight in over four years. Short notice tournament alternate Jose Augusto also was successful on the scale, weighing in at 204.75.

There was one hiccup on the scale as Johnny Soto came in 2.5 pounds heavy for his featherweight matchup with Weber Almeida.

As of now, there has been no word on a penalty for Soto, but Bellator officials confirmed to MMA Fighting that the fight will go on as scheduled.
