A flyweight bout has been added to the UFC’s August pay-per-view.

MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Victoria Leonardo (8-3) and Melissa Gatto (6-0-2) will meet in a flyweight bout at UFC 265 on Aug. 7, at a location still to be determined. Leonardo announced the bout on her social media.

The matchup was first reported by Combate.

A former Invicta FC standout, Leonardo earned a UFC contract last year after defeating Chelsea Hackett on Dana White’s Contender Series. She was unsuccessful in her UFC debut this past January, losing to Manon Fiorot by second-round TKO. In addition to Invicta and the UFC, Leonardo has also competed for Bellator and the Legacy Fighting Alliance.

Gatto looks to make her UFC debut after having it delayed on multiple occasions. The Brazilian fighter has not fought since September 2018 and has seen a number of bout cancellations, including her most recent booking, a fight with Mariya Agapova last June that Gatto withdrew from due to visa issues. She was also sidelined for 12 months after testing positive for a banned substance in June 2019. Gatto told MMA Fighting that she expected a suspension from the USADA was a possibility because she could not afford to have her supplements tested.

UFC 265 does not currently have a main event in place, but two-division champion Amanda Nunes will be in action when she defends her bantamweight title against Julianna Pena.
