Welterweights Sasha Palatnikov and Ramiz Brahimaj will both look to get back into the win column when they clash at the upcoming UFC event scheduled for Aug. 21.
Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Monday. MMA Junkie initially reported the contest.
Following a TKO finish in his UFC debut, Palatnikov suffered a setback in his next appearance inside the octagon when he fell to Impa Kasanganay by second-round submission. Overall, Palatnikov has gone 2-2 in his past four fights but now he’ll look to steady the ship when he returns to action in August.
As for Brahimaj, he will be making his return to action after suffering a gruesome ear injury in his UFC debut after falling to Max Griffin this past November. Brahimaj nearly had his left ear torn off during the fight, which was stopped for obvious reasons once the doctors got a look at the injury.
Thankfully, Brahimaj was able to get everything fixed and reattached as he now prepares for his next fight in August with hopes of securing his first UFC victory.
The upcoming UFC Fight Night card on Aug. 21 will be headlined by a middleweight showdown between former title contender Paulo Cost and fellow heavy-handed slugger Jared Cannonier.
