Darren Elkins and Darrick Minner are set to meet in the octagon.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Elkins (25-9) and Minner (26-11) will fight at a UFC event on July 24, with a location still to be determined. The matchup was first reported by MMA Junkie.
In his most recent outing, Elkins snapping a four-fight losing streak with a third-round submission of Luiz Eduardo Garagorri. His skid included losses to Nate Landwehr, Ryan Hall, and Alexander Volkanovski, all by decision, and a third-round TKO loss at the hands of Ricardo Lamas. “The Damage” owns a 15-8 record in the UFC.
Minner has won two straight after dropping his UFC debut to Grant Dawson in February of last year. He rebounded with a 52-second guillotine choke submission of Canadian prospect T.J. Laramie and then won a unanimous decision over Charles Rosa this past February. Overall, Minner has won four of his past five fights.
