Cat Zingano picked up her first finish in over six years on Friday night.
Zingano took on Olivia Parker on the main card of Bellator 256 in her second promotional bout after a long run with the UFC. “Alpha” was able to slickly transition into a beautiful armbar submission off of her back in the opening round to improve to 2-0 in the Bellator cage.
The event took place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
The 38-year-old Zingano got the fight to the ground in less than a minute, quickly moving to half guard. Zingano would move to full mount with around three minutes to work. Parker gave up her back and was able to reverse into top position before immediately locking in an armbar forcing the tap.
Following the win, the former UFC title challenger called for a Bellator championship bout against the winner of the upcoming fight between Cris Cyborg and Leslie Smith next month.
