Two UFC main events in three weeks? No problem for Kevin Holland.
Stepping in on short notice for an injured Darren Till, Holland successfully made weight Friday morning for the UFC Vegas 23 middleweight main event opposite Marvin Vettori. Holland came in at 183.5 pounds, while Vettori tipped the scales at 186 pounds.
When Holland steps into the cage Saturday at UFC APEX, he will tie UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo for the quickest turnaround between UFC main events at 21 days. Figueiredo successfully defended his featherweight title against Alex Perez at UFC 255 last November, then retained it in a draw against Brandon Moreno the following month at UFC 256.
In the co-main event, featherweights Sodiq Yusuff (145.5) and Arnold Allen (146) also successfully made weight.

Norma Dumont and Ignacio Bahamondes both missed weight, with Dumont’s miss proving to be particularly costly.
Dumont came in 3.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit for her bout with short-notice replacement Erin Blanchfield (135) on Saturday. Blanchfield is stepping in on nine days’ notice for Bea Malecki, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons.
This is the second time in as many bouts that Dumont has missed weight. She also came in 3.5 pounds heavy for a bout with Ashlee Evans-Smith this past November.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources that the Dumont-Blanchfield bout has been cancelled due to the Nevada Athletic Commission pulling Dumont from the card. The cancellation was first reported by MMA Junkie.
Speaking with MMA Fighting hours after the weigh-ins, Dumont said she was cutting weight but got “stuck” at 139.5 pounds.
“The Nevada commission didn’t authorize me to fight because it’s the second time in a row [I miss weight],” Dumont said. “Apparently, the UFC will send me to the [Performance Institute] to run some tests and find out the best way for me to cut weight. They will do some studies with me and see how I’ll continue in this weight class because I believe they really will close the [featherweight] division. I’m pretty upset, I wanted to fight.”
Bahamondes initially weighed in at 157 pounds for a lightweight bout against John Makdessi, then made a second attempt with a curtain covering him after stripping down. On his second attempt, he weighed 156.75 pounds, still 0.75 pounds over the lightweight limit.
The bout will proceed at a catchweight with Bahamondes forfeiting 20 percent of his purse to Makdessi.
