New, comments

Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida are ready for their rematch.

The top contenders successfully weighed in Thursday morning for the Bellator 256 main event, coming in at 205 pounds and 204.6 pounds, respectively. They were required to make championship weight (205 pounds with no one-pound allowance) due to their bout being the quarterfinal opener of the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix. All tournament bouts will be five rounds and current champion Vadim Nemkov is part of the field.

All the main card fighters successfully made weight, including co-main event flyweights Liz Carmouche (125.4) and Vanessa Porto (126). Bellator 256 marks the promotional debut of Porto, a former Invicta FC champion.

Of the 26 fighters competing Friday, only preliminary fighter Jeffrey Glossner failed to make weight. Glossner weighed in at 137.8 pounds, 1.8 pounds over the limit for his bantamweight bout opposite Jaylon Bates (136). The bout will proceed at a catchweight. Glossner’s purse penalty was not disclosed.

Ceremonial weigh-in video will be available at 1 p.m. ET.
