Askar Mozharov vs. Jordan Young off of PFL 2 following Mozharov withdrawal

New, comments
Askar Mozharov

Jordan Young has lost another opponent and will not be competing at PFL 2 after all.

MMA Fighting confirmed with officials that Young’s opponent Askar Mozharov has withdrawn from their light heavyweight bout, which was to take place on the preliminary portion of tonight’s PFL card at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. The reason for Mozharov’s withdrawal was not disclosed.

The news was first reported by ESPN.

Mozharov was to step in as a last-minute replacement for Vinny Magalhaes, who reportedly went to the hospital due to a grueling weight cut. At Wednesday’s weigh-ins, Mozharov successfully weighed in at 205 pounds and then had a heated faceoff with Young.

With Mozharov withdrawing, his bout with Young has been cancelled and PFL 2 will proceed with eight scheduled bouts.

Young took to Instagram on Thursday to express his frustration over the cancellation:

The start time for tonight’s PFL 2 event has been pushed back from 5:30 p.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET.
