A change has been made to the PFL 2 card on Thursday night after Vinny Magalhaes was forced out of his upcoming fight against Jordan Young as the light heavyweight season gets underway.
People with knowledge of the promotion’s plans told MMA Fighting on Wednesday that Magalhaes was over the 205-pound limit for his fight but ultimately ended up going to a local hospital for treatment due to the grueling weight cut.
With Magalhaes out, Young is now expected to face late replacement Askar Mozharov, who will step into the fight on Thursday night.
Mozharov comes into the fight with a 23-7 record overall, including a three-fight win streak. The Ukrainian fighter has competed across Russia and Asia while also previously making an appearance in Titan FC in the United States.
Young vs. Mozharov joins a lineup at the PFL 2 card that also includes Rory MacDonald’s long awaited debut as he faces Curtis Millender in the main event as well as 2019 light heavyweight champion Emiliano Sordi facing off with UFC veteran Chris Camozzi on the card.
