It wasn’t immediately clear what provoked Brown’s response – Brown resisted Joe Rogan’s attempts to trace the bad blood – but it was nonetheless an emphatic statement made at the 2:50 mark of the opening round.
Check out the finish below.
And here was Brown’s immediate reaction to his win.
In the cage afterward, Brown directed fans to his personal Twitch page, putting to good use his time on the mic.
The unpredictable Oliveira couldn’t get much started before Brown cut off his attacks. A leg kick offered an opportunity for a left hook, and a right straight knocked him to the canvas. Brown immediately pounced and worked his way to his foe’s back.
As the two stood up, Brown sunk an arm under the neck. Usually, that would mean he was halfway to the choke. But as the two fell backward, Oliveira tapped just as Brown was securing the choking hand behind his neck, and that was the end of it.
Until, of course, Brown provides an ending to the sudden grudge match. The win puts him back in the win column after a knockout loss to Vicente Luque, while Oliveira, who missed weight for a losing outing against Shavkat Rakhmonov, has now dropped back-to-back fights.
