On Saturday evening, Jake Paul knocked out Ben Askren in the main event of Triller Fight Club. Following the knockout, Askren’s former Olympic wrestling teammate Daniel Cormier took to Twitter where he lamented Askren’s poor performance, which in turn caused Paul to to respond, calling for a fight with Cormier. Cormier, for his part, has made it clear he has no interest in “punching down” to fight Paul but that’s not gonna stop the YouTuber turned boxer from taking shots at the former two-division UFC champion.

On the most recent edition of Jake Paul’s brother Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, the 3-0 boxer doubled down on his call out of Cormier, blasting the former champion for his reaction to the knockout.

“So many fake motherf*****s in this generation,” Jake Paul said. “Daniel Cormier, (mimicking) ‘That’s my boy Ben, he’s gonna beat Jake, he pushed him in the face so he’s gonna win now, chirp, chirp, chirp.’ I knock him out and he’s on Twitter, ‘Ben, are you serious, bro, you went down like that? Ben are you kidding me? Ben, I can’t believe you did that to the MMA community.’ Shut the f*** up b****. I’ll beat the f*** out of your fat ass too, just like Stipe did. Cleveland s***. I swear to God, I’ll beat the f*** out of Daniel Cormier.”

Though Paul has had success in the boxing arena thus far, there’s a pretty major jump between knocking out Ben Askren, a man widely considered to be among the worst boxers in MMA history, and fight a former heavyweight champion who once knocked out the notoriously durable Stipe Miocic. Perhaps with that in mind, Jake Paul’s brother Logan attempted check his brother’s tone when discussing Cormier, to which Jake Paul did at least admit to liking Cormier.

“I respect him, I think he’s great, he had an amazing career,” Paul said. “I’m appreciative of what he’s done for the MMA community. But don’t switch up on your boy like that! It shows your true character. And by the way, I will fight him. Let’s run the pay-per-view.”

The pay-per-view buys for Paul-Askren were exceptional, clocking in at over 1 million buys, but whether or not that could influence Cormier to rethink his position on not fighting Paul is tough to say. If he does, Paul-Cormier could be an even bigger event than Paul-Askren. If not though, Paul says he’s still shooting for the moon his next time out.

“They paid me good for this one, but the price goes up,” Paul said. “By the way, I’m not greedy. I’m patient with this game. I get paid good as f*** but I want to prove to my business partners that I do the numbers. I’m here for a long time. This isn’t just some jerk off event where we’re one and done. But on the next one, we’re going crazier than we did before.”
