Michel Prazeres will re-enter the octagon after over two years away to compete against Shavkat Rakhmonov at the UFC’s Fight Night card on June 26, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting. Ag. Fight first reported the matchup.
The UFC has yet to announce the event’s location and headlining attraction.
Prazeres (26-3) hasn’t fought since February 2019, when Ismail Naurdiev snapped his eight-fight winning streak via unanimous decision. Prazeres’ overall UFC record stands at 10-3.
“Trator,” who has beaten the likes of Gilbert Burns, Josh Burkman, Bartosz Fabinski and Zak Cummings, was suspended two years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after testing positive for exogenous boldenone and its metabolite in an out-of-competition test on March 9, 2019.
A former M-1 welterweight titleholder, Rakhmonov (13-0) impressed in his UFC debut this past October by submitting Alex Oliveira with a guillotine choke in Abu Dhabi. The undefeated prospect has finished all 13 of his opponents, with six submissions and seven knockouts.
