There’s been a switch to a lightweight matchup on Saturday’s UFC Vegas 24 event.
Sources close to the situation confirmed to MMA Fighting that due to an injury to Natan Levy, Austin Hubbard will now face promotional newcomer Dakota Bush at the APEX. Hubbard subsequently confirmed the opponent switch on Monday via his Instagram.
Bush (8-2) enters the bout following a 5-2 run in LFA. The 26-year-old picked up first-round finishes in his last two appearances—a submission win over Brian Del Rosario at LFA 92, and a TKO win over Austin Clem at LFA 98 in January.
Hubbard (12-5) will look to get back in the win column after a first-round submission loss to Joe Solecki at UFC on ESPN 15 in August. “Thud” is 2-3 in his octagon tenure, which includes a decision win over Kyle Prepolec in September 2019, and a second-round TKO win over Max Rohskopf in June.
UFC Vegas 24 will be headlined by a middleweight matchup between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum.
