The first meeting between Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire and Emmanuel Sanchez ended with Pitbull’s hand being raised, but Sanchez has already struck a blow ahead of their rematch.
Freire defends his 145-pound title against Sanchez in Friday’s Bellator 255 main event at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. They first fought in a championship bout at Bellator 209 in November 2018, and Freire defeated Sanchez by unanimous decision to retain the title.
Following Thursday’s ceremonial weigh-ins, Sanchez was handed the mic by commentator Mauro Ranallo and he proceeded to cut a rhyming and rhythmic promo on the champ.
Check out Sanchez’s promo below and the Bellator 255 staredown highlights above.
It’s going to be a great Friday night because our debts are paid, He is risen and He is with me
And short or tall, big or small, they all will fall
All glory and honor to J.C., I’m winning this grand prix
Mauro, you and the world know I can punch, I can kick, and do everything slick
I’ll jump, I’ll spin, I’ll do whatever to win
But I’ll keep it as simple as this: I’m gonna jab, I’m gonna cross, and I’m gonna hand this man another loss. And on to the final
The winner of Friday’s main event will also proceed to the finals of the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix where they will face the undefeated A.J. McKee for the title, a tournament crown, and a $1,000,000 prize.
