The PFL has announced the third card of the upcoming regular season on May 6, which will feature fighters from the heavyweight and women’s lightweight division.
The main event will see the debut of former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum after he inked a deal with the PFL after entering free agency in 2020.
Werdum is coming off a first-round submission win over multi-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson in what was ultimately the final fight on his UFC deal. He’ll now enter the PFL season as the favorite to likely win the heavyweight division but he’ll have a long list of contenders trying to knock him off.
The first person with the opportunity to face Werdum will be Renan Ferreira, who comes to the PFL with a 6-2 record overall with his most recent fights coming in LFA. A member of Team Nogueira, Ferreira dispatched Jared Vanderaa in his last appearance in 2019 while building a 4-1 record over his past five fights.
Morais earned her contract through a Shooto Brazil event where she won two fights in one night and she’ll look to pull off the upset in her debut while going up against a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Harrison.
